Death with Dignity
Dying with assistance. What's your thoughts?
I personally think it should be left up to the patient/client, patient/clients family, and patient/client's physician. I understand the reasons for this plan of action. While thankfully, I have yet to be diagnosed with a life-altering condition that would make me consider this plan of action for myself. I understand wishing to die with one's mental/physical abilities intact.Watching my own family members lose a bit of themselves - day by day - is hard for everyone. No simple answers can be found to be black and white. They are usually various shades of gray. Most people with medical backgrounds have a love for these family members in this type situation. I like many others want to be selfish and keep my family member around longer. While the logical side of me wishes for the pain to be eased. No easy answers can be written. It's a hard subject to tackle and grasp with the emotional context and strings attached to a family member that one loves.
